“My parents didn’t teach me anything about money.”
That was my first complaint when, as an adult, I finally started to learn something about it.That was my first complaint when, as an adult, I finally started to learn something about it. Since then, I’ve overcome the “blaming” mentality; I took ownership and resolved to learn as much as I could.
But it hasn’t stopped me from feeling baffled at just how little useful information we learn about money growing up. It seems the school system is somehow allergic to the topic. And the reality is that parents who don’t know much about money themselves aren’t able to pass along many pearls of wisdom.
